Tarampa Downs was established in 1985 with the purchase of 2 purebred cows with heifer calves at foot and in calf. From there we went on to purchase a French pure bred bull Sundowner SRFW036 who we affectionately called Charlie. This bull was by ELTORO out of Cheston Hannah.
Our 2 sons Tony and Paul were very keen on the showing side of things and had many enjoyable teenage years showing and socialising. Tony, with his wife Rachel, has gone on to establish their own stud while Paul still enjoys the socialising side of things.

Tarampa Downs has a home farm of 70 acres and use a further 100 acres in the area. It is located in the Lockyer Valley in the middle of a rich small cropping community, approximately halfway between the cities of Ipswich and Toowoomba in sunny Queensland Australia.

We strive
• To continue to breed French pure Limousin cattle with the height and muscle of the traditional Limousin.

• To produce a line of females which are easy doing, fertile and with good mothering instincts.

• To produce bulls which have a sirey outlook, are well muscled, possess a good temperament and the ability to pass all of these qualities to the progeny, particularly in cross-breeding situations.

• To produce low birth weight calves which quickly change into well muscled active youngsters.

• To continue to use a variety of semen every year to get a good mix of breeding within the herd.

• To continue to be very particular about temperament.
